Day 6 in Taipei

Day 6 is the most tiring day compared to any other days. We visited the Taiwan Access for All Association. This organisation mainly helped the physically disabled people. They provide wheelchair rental services at a cheaper price. The rental cost of one wheelchair a week is NT$250, around $11 in Singapore.
They have many different kinds of wheelchairs available.
We went around in pairs and my partner for the day was Wenxin. So basically we had to have lunch, board the train and visit the Taiwan Botanical Garden in the wheelchair.

So the challenges for the physically disabled during lunch was to find a place that is wheelchair assessible. If it isn't, then it will be tiring and hard to bring them up.

Lunch was bubble tea with some curry rice, can't remember the exact full name. Shared with Huiyan and the food was pretty good :) tasted like 香菇肉酱, the one sold in Singapore.

After lunch, we set off.
This was us after crossing the road. The roads outside were actually quite rough and it feels rocky when I'm sitting on the wheelchair. But I'm quite thankful cause my partner is really good :)
And then we reached the train station. To be honest, I was super scared that the wheels will be stuck at the hole between the platform and the train, and also cannot make it for the train in time. But all was good :)
After we reached the destination, we changed roles and I became the one pushing. It was some walking distance from the train station to the Botanical Garden. It was really hot and tough, but I still managed to push it all the way :)
So some photos with the people in the trip. :)
With Teresa :)
And Ms Faith, one of my trip leader/teacher.
After which, we came back for dinner. It was buffet style :)
I tried the beancurd too. It has a mixture of green bean, red bean, peanuts and beancurd in a container, and I like it :)

That's about it for Day 6. It has been a tough day being wheelchaired and maneuvering it.

There are some limitations when you are the one sitting down such as not able to take photo at the angle you want, and you feel really helpless and sometimes a burden to the person pushing you.

As the person pushing, you need strength to be able to push long distances and also to watch out everywhere so you won't bump into others.

I guess I'll be more considerate next time. :)
