Safari Boo

Image
The first week of school is over :)  School was pretty good, and I like the current timetable. Spent the weekend volunteering at River Safari for Safari Boo.  On Saturday, I helped out at this booth called 'Smell your way home' where we will introduce how some animals navigate their way. The specimens on display were all real, and I like the baby otter most. It feels so soft and fury.  Kids being kids, they were innocent and funny.  Kid: "Why did the animal die? Did you kill it?" Me: "No, I didn't." Kid: "If you kill it, I will call the police to catch you." That particular child was really funny.  So here's a picture of my volunteer buddies and I at our booth :)  On Sunday night, yan and I were deployed to the craft booth. It was pretty interesting there as children decorate their own craft and win themselves some treats. I think the best thing that night was to talk to the people mending the booth....

No more holiday

Image
Update of the second half of last week! :)  Had brunch with yan at Lola's Cafe on Friday! :)  The food was pretty good hehe! Love the wings and everything else :))  And of course, I love the awesome company!!  After which, accompanied mum for lunch! Found this promotion which was quite attractive hehe. $5 for a main and a drink! Mum and I shared this because I was quite full from breakfast. Pretty good good hehe. But nothing attractive about the cheese fries.  On Sunday, went for a briefing at River Safari. Both of us signed up for this event called Safari Boo. It's a Halloween event which is meant for children, merry but not scary :)  Wanted to have KFC breakfast but they only had the lunch menu so we had something else for breakfast!  We went to a room in the zoo for the briefing then they brought us around for a walk in River Safari to let us familiarize with the places. After which, both of us went to the zoo for free explore hehe!  The previo...

Holiday

Image
I'm really getting quite pissed when I blog because the stupid app just crash when I upload photos.  But anyway, here's an update for the one week holiday! :)  This week holiday was meant for me to catch up with my portfolio and I did too :)  So Monday, I went over to TP to have lunch and study with boyfriend. Managed to find my way there so yay. We explored the food opposite the school :)  We studied in one of the discussion room, which was pretty much similar to the rooms in NP library. They had 4 tables which can accommodate 8 people, and two rows of plugs! Pretty good environment :)  I was bored with my reflections so I took some photos hehe while he continue with his readings.  So on Wednesday, went out for dinner with Adeline, Chanel and Nic.  Stop #1: 剪刀剪 Scissor curry rice. :) The reason why is called that is because the side dishes are all cut with a scissor, and curry is pour over the rice :)  Stop #2: 猪杂汤 The soup have strong 咸菜 taste a...

Week 8

Image
Blogger app is getting on my nerves. It keeps crashing and I can't seems to upload the photos all at one time.  But anyway, some other highlights of my week.  On Wednesday, we had a internship closure organised by NFC. We were given resources to make a thank you gift for our mentor. So we decorated a photo frame for her :)  The refreshment was pretty good there too hehe. I was so hungry whole doing the clay cause I only had 3 pieces of sushi for lunch.  After the internship closure, met Nic at Nicoll Highway before proceeding to golden mile complex for mookata!! First ever mookata experience and I think it was pretty good.  After which we walked to bugis to visit Mavis while Nic brought some stuff for his uncle.  On Thursday, Val and I went for our postponed celebratory lunch at Murphy's. I had egg benedict while she ordered Big Ben Breakfast.  It was a pretty good lunch and then we head to Twenty Grammes Cade for ice cream!! :) There are many varietie...

Last day of attachment

Image
So attachment ended. :)  The last day was a little special than usual because it was my mentor's birthday :) We managed to surprise her successfully!  Collected the cake with Valarie at Ang Mo Kio Hub and sneaked it into the infant side. Then decorated the room and waited for her to come in :)  Love the team in the centre because they are really selfless and friendly. :) I managed to interact with most of the teachers and they welcome us alot :) Going to miss them so much!!  So we took a photo with my mentor too :) isn't she young!! But I'm  thankful because she's a really nice mentor, checking with us if we face any problems and talking to us :)  And we got presents from Teacher Rachel and Ms Vivian!!  Teacher Rachel really treated us like her children and I'm really thankful for her presence. There were many times when we just sat there and have small talks :) thank you so much!!!  Oh and she made balloon for us!! Hehehe I only took a photo of i...

Extremely memorable/cui day

Image
Today was a memorable day.  Before I start talking about it, let me give you some background information. Basically, my group and I took part in this competition called SAFE. It is organised by MHA to tackle different problems. Our group came up with a board game to help traffic police to enforce traffic safety rules.  So here's a photo of us with the game set we came up with! We got through the first round and so today was our presentation at MHA Headquarters. I met chiling and yan at the MRT station before heading there together. Little did I expect that it was raining heavily in Novena and we only had one umbrella with us. We tried to walk under the shelter towards the headquarters but it seems like we couldn't cross over. So we flagged a taxi to bring us to the building that was opposite us. The best thing was MHA headquarters was so strict to the extent that no external vehicle is able to enter. So I (or we) panic and just got off at some shelter ...

Parenting workshop done!

Image
On Thursday, Val and I decided to explore ITE and guess what we found!!!  These desserts look so appealing and of course, I bought it :D  I tried the macaroon and the fruit Danish. :D  They taste really good :D yummy!  On Friday, we went out to Science Centre with the children!  It was quite a good experience bringing them out. I followed the K1 class, and the children were so curious and asked me lots of questions.  There was this exhibit where the Einstein just keep moving up and down the rope. So the children asked me if that was a clown. I told them it was Einstein and he was the one who invented light bulb. Then one of them also asked if he is colored like us. And another one asked why he is dead. I think it's really interesting to see them so interested. But at the same time, some questions have no answers.  Yay! :)  On Saturday, we conduct our parenting workshop! Thankfully it ran smoothly and I'm really glad that it's over!! The parents an...

Happy week

Image
It's Friday, 5.47am. Was so tired from cutting and laminating yesterday that I fell asleep while using the phone. I'm kinda excited for later because we are going to the Science Centre with the children!! :)  So here's an update for this week.  On Tuesday, had kbbq with nic and chanel! :) woohoo tried kbbq-ing at a new place. There was ginseng chicken soup there which was nice :D The meat variety wasn't that bad. There was no bacon, but they had thinly sliced pork belly which not really good because the skin is super hard after bbq-ing it. Taadaaaaa :)  And us! :)  On Wednesday, I had a date with yan after tutorial. There were many agenda for the day, and I think we cleared most of them hehe. It was a super good date because I laughed a lot that day. We did the stupidest things but it was really relaxing to just spend time together. So thanks for the awesome date <3 So the date started off with us having lunch in school. Been so long since I'm having food outside...
